The dramatic true story of Sir Ernest Shackleton's ill-fated 1914-16 Trans Antarctic expedition is one of the most extraordinary survival stories of all time. A testament to heroism and human endurance, the crew of 28 men survived nearly two years in the Antarctic after their ship was crushed by ice. This film re-creates the epic story, with three of the world's most-accomplished mountaineers attempting to retrace the final, seemingly impossible, traverse of the mountains and glaciers of South Georgia Island. The film placed in the top 25 of Variety's box office leaders in 2001 and was one of the most successful IMAX films that year. Narrated by Kevin Spacey. Available features include 5.1 English, Spanish and French, trailers and quiz. DVD Only.
